description: |
| Thirty
16"x20" canvases/panels will be hung in
an exhibit at Muse Art and Design. Each canvas/panel
will start
out blank, labeled with the name of an
artist and the date that the artist will create his
or her piece. |
| Every
day in April, between noon and 5 P.M.,
a different artist will create a painting, drawing,
collage, or print in the medium of his or her choice. |
| Artists
will work in the front-window area of Muse
Art and Design. The public is
invited to drop in each day to watch as artists create
their paintings and drawings. |
| As
each piece is finished, the canvases will be returned
to
their place in the exhibit. Bid
sheets will accompany each art piece. The public may
bid on works
by silent auction from April 1 through May 13. Minimum
bid for each work will start at $75. Optional "guaranteed-
winning-bid" prices may be set by artists for
some pieces. |
| A
reception for artists and the public will be held on
Thursday, May 13 from 6 P.M. to
8 P.M. The
auction will continue through the reception and will
close at the end
of the evening. |
| All
funds raised will benefit
Schoolhouse
Supplies,
a free store where public school teachers can obtain
supplies for their classrooms at no cost. Muse Art and
Design
will use funds to purchase art supplies at wholesale
cost for Schoolhouse Supplies. |
| Artists
will receive 50% of the winning bid price for their
work. |
