Mayorga is compelled to paint in Portland, Oregon. His work features icons both local and ancestral: from Portland landmarks to Mayan glyph characters interacting in a surreal landscape. Many of his works are three dimensional, mixed media and slightly on the darker side. He jumps from reverence to irreverence in seconds flat.
