bio: Kimberly began painting in 1983 in Kona Hawaii. She studied and later taught in a local studio/gallery. She showed her work in galleries in Kona before returning to her native Portland Oregon to pursue her degree in painting drawing and printmaking at Portland State. The journey of art making has taken her through many media and more than 12 countries. She continues to travel with her husband and three children, pochade box in tow. She paints in oil, mixed media and encaustics en plein air. Kimberly continues to teach and show her work in solo and group shows nation wide. She has shown her work in several galleries in Hawaii, the US mainland and Europe.
on the importance of art:

Art is vital for many reasons. It offers people an alternative language to communicate with others. The joy of creation is something missing in many lives. Having original art in your space is a inexpensive vacation.
