Art
is the ultimate expression of the human self. Hands forming
something out of nothing, thoughts beginning in the head
and heart and sparking life into a creation put on display
for the world to see the innermost workings of an artists'
soul. These are my thoughts as I create pieces with wood,
wax, paint, and paper.
I teach encaustic painting in my Portland studio and show my
work nationally. |

Art
is that emotional heart or "spark" of a society.
It is what is left of a society's inner pulse after
all of us are dead and gone. It makes us pause and
really look and soak something up besides the mundane.
