| bio: |
For
14 years I worked as a graphic designer eventually landing
in Portland where I opened my graphic design business in
2005. In 2009, I decided to take a leap of faith and leave
design to focus on oil painting and illustration. People
and faces are my favorite subjects. Drifting between realism
and surrealism, I love recreating vintage America, re-imagining
the lives and stories of strong women or just exploring
the emotional color of faces in the crowd. |

the importance of art: |
For
me, art is an important vehicle for communication.
Capturing in art visions that are beyond the capacity
of words can be life-affirming. It can stimulate viewers'
emotions and allow them to explore and acknowledge
unspoken feelings in a safe and healthy manner.
