bio: My paintings explore the classic elements of balance and elegance while continuing the contemporary applications of painting. I use unconventional materials (most strikingly glitter) to achieve an animated landscape and produce striking lines. In exploring traditional and previously well examined elements of composition, I investigate the interaction of mass and weight. My work succeeds through balance and creating a harmonious landscape by which my viewer may access my diverse material choices and stimulating colors.
on the importance of art:

"Art, for me, is first and foremost an act of storytelling. For our contemporary society this act, of storytelling that is, seeks to foster a sense of community and interaction that is constantly threatened. Only through allowing acts of storytelling, whether it be art, dance or any other form of artist expression, can we continue to have successful interactions with one another."
