| bio: |
I
am a self-taught artist and have been an abstract painter
for three years. After drawing portraits for many years,
I found the need to express myself outside the bounds of
figurative realism. Although it was my initial intention
only to use abstraction as a means to familiarize myself
with paint before returning to realism I have found great
delight in the abstract.

the importance of art: |
"For
me art’s primary responsibility is beauty.
In my paintings color, form, and movement are emphasized
without the constraint of specificity in order to
create an isolated world of harmony. This allows
the viewer to conceive their own intimate connection
with the piece."
