bio: Addie Boswell is an artist and writer in Southeast Portland. Her primary mediums are oil paint and paper collage, and her art is notable for its vibrant colors and simple, strong lines. When not in the studio, she writes childrens books and teaches recycled art residencies in schools, libraries, and community programs around town.
on the importance of art:

"My love of art is its purpose to interact and respond; I think the more we weave art into our daily lives, into schools and libraries and alleys, into cereal boxes and T-shirts and handbags, the more powerful and necessary it becomes. Art is especially important for children because it gives them another tool with which to respond to the world in a positive way."
